DETOX BEAUTY

What Goes on the Body Goes in the Body…

Your skin is a reflection of what is going on inside and after a detox and healthy diet regime, you will be glowing and radiant. The skin is a vehicle for detoxification via sweating, but it also works in the opposite direction. The skin absorbs toxins into the body, so be careful about what you apply to your skin. That’s right: what goes on, must go in, so try to avoid products that use petrochemicals and plastics as the base. Many of the drugstore variety beauty products are heavy on chemicals, including shampoos, conditioners, toothpaste, creams, lotions, and makeup. Many are petroleum based and loaded with Phthalates, plastics, formaldehyde, parabens, synthetic fragrances and many other chemicals that are hard to pronounce.

These chemicals in beauty products are “endocrine disruptors”. They have the ability to create imbalances in levels of estrogen, progesterone and testosterone. These chemicals are known as xenobiotics and should be avoided at all costs. They can lead to chronic diseases including cancer. Luckily, there are many great beauty products on the market that use natural ingredients. Try to think about skin and beauty care as “food for the hair and skin”.

Look for beauty products that use bases of Organic oils such as Shea nut butter, Argan Oil, Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, and organic essential oils. Organic Beauty products leave your skin glowing.
