Botanical name: Eucalyptus globulus
Constituent Essential Oils: eucalyptol, pinene, camphene, eucalyptine
Organ Affinity: lung, large intestine, and bladder
Energetic Qualities: pungent, bitter, cool, dry, and moist
Therapeutic Qualities: stimulating, dispersing, restoring, astringent
Functions and Indications:
- Promotes expectoration of mucous and phlegm
- Allergic Rhinitis
- Clears sinuses
- Anti-Inflammatory
- Anti-viral/anti-bacterial
- Cold and flu
- Hayfever
- Headache
- Fever
Preparation and Usage:
The essential oil of Eucalyptus can be use both internally and externally.
- Topical- a few drops can be put into a carrier oil and massaged into the skin.
- Diffuser-put 2-5 drops in a diffuser
- Steam inhalation- put 2-5 drops in a steam room or boiling water and allow to permeate the room
