Eating healthy is essential, whether you are on a detox, dieting, quitting smoking or just living your life. Here are some easy steps you can take to being and eating healthier…
1. Eat 4-6 small meals per day with protein included in them.
2. Chew food well, especially fruits and vegetables.
3. Sit down and relax while eating. Avoid the phone, TV, reading, driving, standing.
4. Avoid too many liquids when eating a big meal as it dilutes the enzymes.
5. Food and Beverages are best warm or at room temperature.
6. Avoid cooking in aluminum pans. Avoid acidic juices, sauces and sodas in aluminum cans.
7. Avoid microwaving and eating or drinking hot things in plastic. Instead use glass or ceramic cups and plates for hot items.
8. For weight loss or maintenance the diet should be higher in protein and lower in
refined carbohydrates.
9. Do not skip meals.
10. Make a list of all things you will need. Try to shop first at you local grocery store and
then go to the more expensive health food stores for the rest.
11. Read labels and learn what it in your foods.
12. Consider that if you spend more on good quality food now you will spend less on your health care in the future. You are worth the investment.
13.When you are eating, shopping,and cooking try to maintain the positive idea that the food is a gift of nourishment that you are giving yourself.
14. Meals are best begun with a prayer or meditation of gratitude and mindfulness.
