As a holistic physician, Gabrielle seeks to restore and maintain maximum health
by emphasizing natures inherent self-healing process-the Vis-Medicatnx
Naturae. She accomplishes this through education and the use
of natural therapeutic methods and substances, which work
in harmony with the body. These include body/mind counseling,
diet therapy and nutritional substances, herbal medicine,
homeopathy, aromatherapy, chiropractic manipulation. physical
therapy, massage. and acupuncture and oriental medicine.

Her medical approach is perhaps best summed up by Sir William
Osler who said, “It is better to know the patient that
has the disease than the disease a patient has.” She
intentionally limits the size of her practice, enabling her
to devote more time to the diagnosing, treating, and long-term
education of each individual patient. Patients are given customized
treatment plans for balancing body. mind and spirit. Health
maintenance and lifestyle changes are emphasized.
Gabrielle earned her doctorate in Chiropractic at National
College of Chiropractic in Chicago. She received her degrees
in Naturopathic Medicine and Acupuncture and Oriental medicine
from Bastyr University in Seattle She completed a clinical
residency for Acupuncture, Chinese Massage and Chinese Herbal
Medicine at Chengdu Hospital for Traditional Chinese Medicine
in China. She did a residency for Bastyr University at Biomedical
Center Cancer Facility in Mexico where she learned the utilization
of alternative medicines for cancer treatment. She received
certification in drug and alcohol detoxification using acupuncture
at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx, NY.
Dr. Francis has postgraduate studies and degrees in Environmental
Medicine and Toxicology, Functional Medicine, Bio-ldentical
Hormone Replacement Therapy, Fertility Enhancement, Mind Body
Medicine, and Neurotransmitter and Endocrine Support.
Following her 17 years of medical education, Dr. Francis
embarked on several years of world travel. She combined her
love of travel and culture with a quest for knowledge of medicine
from indigenous cultures. She has studied Acupuncture and
Chinese Medicine in China, Thai Massage in Thailand, Ayurvedic
Medicine in India, and Mayan Abdominal Massage and Spirituality
in Belize and Guatemala. She has also done ethnobotony trainings
in Belize, Guatemala, Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, Cuba
and Morocco. Most recently, Dr. Francis joined a team of researchers
in Cuba to study the acclaimed Cuban health care system. The
knowledge and experience she acquired on her travels is reflected
in her unique perspective on medicine and healing.
In addition to her private practice and workshops, Gabrielle
is the sole proprietor of Backstage Alterative, a mobile practice
that provides holistic medical services to Rock n Roll Performing
Artists and production companies while they are on tour.
